  • B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a 3 (Three) years Undergraduate Program offered by Vananchal College of Science.
  • Medical Laboratory Technology is an Allied Health especially concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through the use of clinical laboratory tests.
  • As vital members of the health care team, medical laboratory professionals play a critical role in collecting the information needed to give the best care to an ill patient. The fact is that the practice of modern medicine would be impossible without the tests performed in the laboratory.
  • Medical laboratory professionals have unlimited choices in practice settings. Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, public health facilities, and commercial laboratories all have positions open right now for qualified laboratory professionals. Employment of clinical laboratory workers is expected to grow as the volume of laboratory tests increases with population growth and the development of new types of tests.

Medical Lab technologists work in different areas of clinical laboratory-like Blood banking, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, cytotechnologist, phlebotomy, urinalysis, coagulation, parasitology, and serology.

The course is designed to acquire necessary clinical skills to satisfy the ever-growing need for competent medical laboratory technologists. Teachers And Their Responsibilities

Vananchal College of Science is very focused on Quality education for the students. To develop good quality education, we focused on a friendly environment amongst teachers and students, because it is a key that can only unlock the hesitations in students and thus the result is very approachable and positive.

The Teacher Must:

  1. Maintains the Teacher’s Diary – Teachers of this College maintaining their diary regularly, so that they may have a better idea of the syllabus (how much syllabus is covered and how much is remaining to teach).
  2. Maintaining Teacher’s Taught Register in Principal Office – In the Principal Office, ATTR (Teachers Taught Register) is maintained in daily routine for each session, so that an exact idea of classes held and whole activities can be traced out.
  3. Job Training and Project Work – One month of Job Training for each year held which is also mentioned in the syllabus by the University. (It gives a very practical approach to students and teachers of this College involved in the job training and project work as a guide).
  4. Express free and frank opinion by participation at professional meetings, Seminars towards the contribution of knowledge.
  5. Perform their duties in the form of teaching, tutorial, practical, seminar, and research work conscientiously and with dedication.
  6. Co-operate and assist in carrying out functions relating to the educational responsibilities of the college and the university such as: assisting in appraising applications for admission, advising, and counseling students as well as assisting the conduct of University and College Examinations, including supervision, invigilation, and evaluation.

  5. Inculcate among students’ scientific outlook and respect for physical labor and ideals of democracy.
  6. Be affectionate to the students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
  7. Pay attention to only the attainment of the student in the assessment of merit.
  8. Make themselves available to the students even beyond their class hours and help and guide students without any remuneration or reward.

  2. Speak respectfully of others and render assistance for professional betterment.
  3. Refrain from lodging unsubstantiated allegations against colleagues to higher authorities.
  4. Refrain from allowing considerations of caste, creed, religion, race, or sex in their professional endeavor.

Teachers and Authorities

The Teacher Must:

  • Discharge their professional responsibilities according to the existing rules and adhere to procedures and methods consistent with their profession in initiating steps through their institutional bodies and/or professional organizations for change of any such rule detrimental to the professional interest.
  • Refrain from undertaking any other employment and commitment including private tuitions and coaching classes which are likely to interfere with their professional responsibilities.
  • Co-operate in the formulation of policies of the institution by accepting various offices and discharge responsibilities which such offices may demand.
  • Co-operate through their organizations in the formulation of policies of the other institutions and accept offices.
  • Co-operate with the authorities for the betterment of the institutions keeping in view the interest and in conformity with the dignity of the profession.
  • Give and expect due notice before a change of position is made.
  • Refrain from availing themselves of leave except on unavoidable grounds and as far as practicable with prior intimation, keeping in view their particular responsibility for completion of the academic schedule.

  • Try to see through teachers’ bodies and organizations, that institutions maintain contact with the guardians their students, send reports of their performance to the guardians whenever necessary, and meet the guardians in the meeting convened for mutual exchange of ideas and the benefit of the institution.
